2019 Goals

Goals… what are they good for? Absolutely everything! Huh, yeah!

People tend to set New Year’s resolutions, not goals. They are called New Year’s resolutions, after all.

While the difference between resolutions and goals may seem to be more related to diction than definition, we have purposefully chosen to enter the new year armed with goals rather than weighed down by the heavy baggage that seems to come with resolutions.

Resolutions are intentions to modify our behaviour. Goals are items we want to accomplish. In achieving our goals, we may modify our behaviour as a result, such as by running more regularly, but we feel like goals help us to focus more on the journey than on the destination, more on the adventure than on the treasure.

Here are the items we are looking to capitalize on for 2019:

  • Run our first half-marathon together in 2:20 or better (www.armyrun.ca)
  • Log 365+ km on Nike Run Club
  • Travel somewhere new
  • Take a CPR/ First Aid Course
